William Cranch Bond professional correspondence, 1842-1853, 1842-1853 Digital
Scope and Contents
Correspondence to William Cranch Bond from Harvard College President Josiah Quincy (1772-1864) informing him of the conferral of an honorary AM by Harvard, and from professional societies, including the Royal Astronomical Society of London, regarding his election as member, dated 1842-1853. There is also a letter, signature illegible, offering Bond and the Harvard College Observatory a steel plate created by Mr. Prudhomme, possibly referring to the engraver John Francis Eugene Prud'homme (1800-1892).
