Scope and Contents
This series consists of genealogical and biographical information on William Cranch Bond and his family, legal documents, awards and certificates, writings, and correspondence of the Bond family. Included are several commonplace books kept by William Cranch Bond and a memoranda on his work in astronomy and navigational tools, written by his son, George P. Bond. The correspondence sometimes includes letters related to business and the Bonds' work in astronomy, as well as personal and family matters. There are also letters to and from Bond's daughter Selina C. Bond (1831-1920) to English relatives regarding the family's connection to the head of Oliver Cromwell.
