The Summer Math and Science Mentoring Program was organized by Maria Furman, program coordinator of the HMS office of Faculty Development and Diversity summer programs. This program allows middle school students a chance to do hands-on science, research career opportunities, and gain a head start on academic preparation. The program began in 1999 and occurs every year in April, May, and June. In August the program sponsors a two-week math camp.
