In this letter, Rathindranth Chattopadhyay praises Southern's book The Music of Black Americans : A History and requests Southern to send him extra information on the song "We Shall Overcome." Chattopadhyay also notes that he is the author of the only biography of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. written in Bengali.
