Scope and Contents

Three of the bonds in this subseries served as instruments of security for the Harvard Corporation, to ensure that Shapleigh's College expenses would be paid. The fourth bond outlines Shapleigh's financial obligations to Cambridge tavern keeper Ebenezer Bradish.
