Letters between Edward Holyoke and Jonthan Trumbull, May 6, 1762 Digital
Scope and content
In his letter of May 6, 1762, Holyoke asks Trumbull to deliver a valedictory oration at Commencement. On the same page is Trumbull's reply in the affirmative. According to the letter of donation, Trumbull then found out that Mr. Davies had also been asked to deliver an oration, prompting Trumbull to withdraw his acceptance; this letter from Trumbull, dated June 22, is not contained within this collection. In a separate letter, dated June 28, 1762, Holyoke asks him to reconsider his answer.
