Scope and Contents

Handwritten letter from William W. Edwards to Mildred Bliss thanks her for the opportunity made available to him by the Dumbarton Oaks Garden Scholarship. He tells her the last summer was one of the most enjoyable he has ever spent, and an experience he will always value. The advantages, aesthetic, and practical experience form part of a reserve from which to draw in the creation of his own designs for the pleasure of others and self-expression. He wishes all students of landscape architecture could have such an opportunity.
