IA-1. Corporate management records: Board of Directors, Stockholders, and Operating Policy Committee, 1937-1995

Scope and Contents

The records included in this subseries document the activities of the Polaroid Corporation's highest level policy and decision-making bodies, 1953-1990. The existing records document select periods in Polaroid's corporate history; they do not provide a comprehensive view of its management decision-making throughout the decades.

The Board of Directors records document the board's activities from February 1967 to December 1972. During this time, Polaroid was involved in the development and release of its iconic SX-70 model instant camera. These meeting records include agendas, minutes, correspondence, and pre-meeting briefing documents.

The stockholder records document Polaroid's annual stockholder meetings, 1966-1990. The company's annual meetings often included the unveiling of new Polaroid products. These records include meeting transcripts (1966-1971), packets of company literature (annual reports, product information, etc.) that were distributed to each stockholder, and annual meeting invitations and programs.

The subseries also includes the records of the Operating Policy Committee, which steered Polaroid's decision making on research and development, manufacturing, advertising and sales, etc., 1957-1968. Finally, the records include reports submitted by Polaroid's International Management Committee to its Management Executive Committee, 1970-1971.

Polaroid Corporation annual reports from 1937 to 1995 are also located here. These materials have been digitized.
