Scope and Contents
Journal of John Heard, mostly related to the distillery business, dated to 1781-1788. Included are accounts of labor, and work on ships and voyages of the schooner Martha and sloop Success; charges against the town of Ipswich; and stock received and delivered out of the distillery. Comeno Morris's account includes records of his labor and rent of a house, and payment by Heard in rum, beef, clove water, and cash.
