This subseries contains the papers of John Heard 1st (1744-1834) of Ipswich, Mass. Included are family histories, financial papers, day books, ledgers, shipping records, correspondence and miscellaneous papers and books. Also included are papers relating to the town of Ipswich and Essex County. John Heard was the father of Augustine Heard I and George Washington Heard.
