Agreements, leases, powers of attorney, 'Swasey's Tavern', 1737-1816 Digital

Scope and Contents

Contains legal records, dated 1737-1816, including agreements, deeds, and leases signed by John Heard for the land, dwelling house, and store he owned on Union Street in Boston. On the verso of an indenture is a copy of an agreement between John Heard and Paul Revere. There is also an agreement with Benjamin Harrod to create a two hundred and ten gallon still, powers of attorney to Heard, referee reports, documents related to lawsuits, and bonds from Heard to William Story, Jr., for half of the distillery, and to Nathaniel Hatch and Mary Tyler.
