Collection consists of a letter written by Charles Olden Allibone to Sallie P. Coleman from aboard the U.S.S. Cayuga during the Union Army occupation of Donaldson, Louisiana, recounting encounters with local Confederate supporters, his impressions of the area, and his anticipation of attacks on Union ships by Confederate forces. Enclosed in the letter is a print featuring a naval scene with a Christmas greeting.
