Student works from various courses, 1940-1948, undated

Scope and Contents

This series contains student works, undated and dated 1909 to 1942, from second-year drawing and painting courses. Some drawings and paintings appear to have been foldered by faculty as class portfolios representative of individual students’ work. This series also contains student paintings, undated and dated 1918-1928, from a course offered to both graduates and undergraduates titled Fine Arts 2d: Drawing and Painting (advanced course). Mower and Pope taught the course in alternating academic years between 1924-25 and 1933-34. One painting includes a note to Mr. Field, an assistant to Pope in Fine Arts 1a. This series includes student, faculty, teaching, or museum related works. Works may or may not be connected to a course. If works are tied to courses, the courses may be unknown or uncertain. Some creator names are known. Materials include paintings, works on paper: drawings, watercolors, and ink calligraphy.
