The collection also contains clippings, bulletins, and fliers related to suffrage activities and the League of Women Voters.
The collection has two major sections: Hartshorne's correspondence and printed matter. The first is mostly business correspondence, filed alphabetically by subject, sender, or addressee; clippings and pamphlets are occasionally included. The publications include bulletins, pamphlets, and fliers related to women's suffrage, state and local campaigns, and voter enrollment. The rest of the collection contains minutes, recipes, etc.
BIOGRAPHY
Hartshorne served the Pennsylvania Limited Suffrage League as treasurer (1911-1912) and corresponding secretary (1911-1915), resigning in December 1915 in a disagreement with the governing board of the league. In her later years she was active in the Pennsylvania League of Women Voters. She was married to Edward Yarnall Hartshorne and had two daughters, Emily and Clementina.
