The photograph album of Madlene Jackson Wilson contains photographs of Wilson and her family and friends in Glynn County, Georgia. Most photographs consist of snapshots taken in yards and at school events, such as football games. Also included are school portraits; photographs of the Risley High School girls and boys basketball teams; studio photographs of African American soldiers; and a portrait of Mansfield Jackson's singing group, The Four Souls. Most of the photographs in this collection are or will be digitized and available online.

BIOGRAPHY

Madlene Jackson Wilson, daughter of Mansfield and Araminta Barnes Jackson, was born January 8, 1926, in Saint Simons Island, Georgia. She attended Fort Valley State College, a historically Black college, and later worked as a teacher. She died May 12, 1999.
