The Ah Fong Wong family photograph collection contains snapshots of the Wong family at family gatherings, including a graduation. Several photographs were taken in front of Wong Laundry. Some of the photographs are dated, but none of them identify the people, places, or events depicted. Most of the photographs in this collection are or will be digitized and available online.

BIOGRAPHY

Ah Fong Wong, son of Wong Yee Lang and Leung Shee, was born July 2, 1921, in Git Soo Vil Sun Ning, China. Known as George, he served in the United States Army in World War II and following the war settled in Lynn, Massachusetts, where he operated Wong Laundry. He married Sue You (Soo-Hoo) and they had seven children, Gene, Marion, Theodore, Lillian, Henry, Arnold, and Helen. Wong died November 28, 1990.

The Ah Fong Wong family photograph collection was acquired by the Schlesinger Library from Martin Hartzold Books in September 2023.
