The collection consists of a loose-leaf scrapbook containing photographs, clippings, and correspondence documenting Agnes Christina Olsson's social life and political connections in New York City, Columbia, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela. Most of the photographs are souvenir photographs from night clubs with inscriptions to Olsson from people featured in the images. Several of the inscriptions are on pieces of cardstock with printed information on the back about the nightclubs where the photographs were taken. Also included are several press photographs, including from the wedding of Dominican President Héctor Trujillo and Alma McLaughlin Simó de Trujillo and the 1965 inauguration of Ferdinand Marcos. Also included are two of Olsson's passports and a passport belonging to her sister, Olivia Allontina Olsson.

BIOGRAPHY

Agnes Christina Olsson, daughter of Oskar Ludvig and Kristina Karlsson Olsson, was born in Styrsö, Sweden on September 3, 1923. She immigrated to New York with her family in 1934 and eventually became a United States citizen. She worked as a Spanish interpreter throughout Central and South America and the Caribbean.
