1 folderThis collection consists of two undated accounts of young American women leaving Germany at the very beginning of World War I. The first account describes a journey from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria, to Berlin, Germany. The second account describes a journey from Munich, Germany, to New York. Topics include train rides, soldiers, logistics of travel in a war zone, scarcity of food, refugees, checkpoints, and traveling on the SS St. Louis.
BIOGRAPHY
Rosamond Clark was born on May 12, 1882, to Theodore Minot Clark and Jeanette French Clark in Newtonville, Massachusetts. Rosamond Clark graduated from Wellesley College in 1903.
