Scope and Contents
This collection consists of a single recipe book likely created by an unidentified woman at some time between the early 1700s and the early 1800s.The bulk of the recipes in the beginning of the book are for remedies for ailments and diseases including flush, cholic, worms, headaches, toothaches, common plague, measles, small pox, dropsy, aches, stab wounds, ague, cough, consumption, cankers, cancers, fistulas, sore breasts, gout, stomach ache, burns, dog bites, inflamed sinuses, etc. One...
