Subseries B. Personal, 1937-1972

Scope and Contents

This subseries is composed of documents collected by Coyne, ration cards, some correspondence and addressees. The bulk of the subseries contains travel journals spanning 1937-1972. The journals record Coyne's perceptions and descriptions of the culture in various locations in England, Ireland, France, Germany, Holland, Spain, Morocco, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Greece, Africa, the Middle East, the United States, the Bahamas and Venezuela while traveling on holiday, often with Hudson. Each day holds a brief entry which consistently records the weather, a detailed description of Coyne's and Hudson's meals, purchases, and sights visited.
