Series Note
This series consists of material on the cases in which Calvert Magruder wrote opinions while he was a judge and Chief Judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. These case materials include first drafts of his opinions; correspondence with U.S. District Court Judges in his jurisdiction; final forms of his opinions; research notes on the legislative history for some problems raised by specific cases; briefs and opinions; and reprints of cases from the American Law Reports.
Material is in typed and printed form; there are also autograph letters and holograph notes. Cases are arranged numerically by their assigned Court number, starting with the Court Term of October, 1938.
