Biographical / Historical
The East Asian Research Center (EARC) supported scholarship on China, Japan, and Korea and countries historically forming part of the ancient Chinese culture area. The EARC was established in 1955 as The Center for East Asian Studies and re-named the East Asian Research Center in 1957. In 1977 the name was changed to the Fairbank Center for East Asian Research.

Transferred to the Harvard University Archives from the East Asian Research Center.
