Donation lists, 1680-1955

Scope and Contents

This series contains lists of donations to Harvard compiled, most often by College administrators, to keep track of donors, conditions on gifts, and any related income. While most items in this series are short lists noting specific donations, "An Account of Grants Donations and Bequests to Harvard College from the Foundation of that Society to the Year 1773" compiled by Andrew Eliot in 1773, and "List of gifts to Harvard College, 1638-1800," compiled by Andrew McFarland Davis in 1886 provide more comprehensive lists of donations to Harvard contributed during the stated date spans.
