Markings on back: Africa I / Turning Device 60". Note on back: "Mr. Hazard, This device in South Africa was to be operated by a winch on columns 1 & 12. If door moves as easily as I am informed it does, I suggest that the device be attached as much to one side of the center as truss clearances will permit. that a 8[?] cord be used, that the loop of the end hang down (perhaps with a weighted pulley to take away the slack) near the floor, and that the door be operated merely by pulling the cord by hand. / J.R.N.
