Scope and Contents:
The collection is composed chiefly of ships' logs and journals of various voyages, including whaling voyages, principally from Boston and other New England towns, written by Charles Brewer, Elias Davis, Gilbert Howland, and others. Also includes miscellaneous ship papers and notes on whaling grounds, dated 1879, made for the use of ship captains by Aiken & Swift of New Bedford, Massachusetts.
