All materials date from around the time Morning Star Ranch functioned in its original form, from approximately 1967 to 1972, with some materials from the following years.
Biographical / Historical
Morning Star Ranch, also known as Morningstar Commune, was a counterculture communal living ranch in Occidental, California, in Sonoma County, co-founded by Lou Gottlieb. In its original form, led by Gottlieb, Morning Star Ranch functioned as a commune from 1967-1972.

Collection has been minimally processed. Questionnaires are grouped in a binder, while additional papers are enclosed in a single folder. Materials have not been arranged.
