Extent
5 linear feet (18 boxes)Collection of documents acquired by David Shneidman relating primarily to the political and military history of Great Britain from the reigns of George I through William IV. Creators include members of royal families, government officials and politicians, military leaders, ordinary soldiers and officers, noteworthy scientists, writers, and artists of the day. Types of material represented include letters, receipts, title and land transfers, military orders, recommendations, appointments, commissions, warrants, and several manuscript books.
The collection also contains a quantity of pre- and post-Georgian material (i.e., dating before 1714 and after 1837), as well as a small number of non-British documents.
