Biographical / Historical
Harry B. Benford (1917-2015) graduated from the University of Michigan in 1940. After graduation he worked at Newport News Shipbuilding Company and taught at the University of Michigan in the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. Benford was a faculty advisors at the University of Michigan's Gilbert & Sullivan Society. Benford was also the author of a book about the Gilbert & Sullivan operas, called The Gilbert & Sullivan Lexicon.
