Manuscripts written in several hands; signed by John Punchard, John Lambert, Zachariah Morgan, Nathan Putnam, and others; one document contains a wax seal. Includes: (1) copy of Nathan Putnam's will, dated at Salem, 16 January 1747; (2) bills of lading, invoices, and other documents concerning the cargo of the schooner Polly, with a notarized statement of ownership of merchandise on the Polly by John Fowler and John Page, with a wax seal of the city of Salem, all dated 1807; (3) accounts of Captain Josiah Foster with S. A. Wittering for goods to stock and repair an unidentified ship, dated December 1831-February 1832; and (4) original paper wrapper for these papers, identifying them as papers of "James A. Barnes."
