Photograph albums chiefly contain cabinet photographs and cartes-de-visite depicting the British royal family, including Queen Victoria, and politicians such as the Duke of Wellington. There are also photographs of European politicians and royalty, such as Charles Louis Napoleon Bonaparte III, Empress Eugenie, Franz Joseph I and Empress Elizabeth of Austria, as well as of authors Charles Dickens, John Ruskin, and William Makepeace Thackeray.
