Volume commemorates a dinner (Atlantic Dinner, December 15, 1874) held to honor the author-contributors to an issue of the Atlantic Monthly. Volume includes: issue of the Atlantic Monthly, vol. XXXV (Jan. 1875, no.CCVII) interleaved with letters from authors invited to the dinner, most addressed to Henry Oscar Houghton or H.O. Houghton and Company; includes manuscript list of those invited and clippings from various newspapers describing the event.
