I. William Hobart Hare papers concerning his mission to Japan, 1891-1892

Scope and Contents

These papers were received in the repository tied into a bundle with string, and labeled: "Mission to Japan, 1891-1892." Papers concern Hare's assignment by the Episcopal Church House of Bishops, in February of 1891, to proceed to Japan and administer the affairs of the Episcopal jurisdiction there for six months to a year. Includes letters, documents, compositions by and about Hare, and printed articles and clippings, all relating to the Japan appointment.
