B. ORGANIZATIONS FILE: 15.61 linear feet (37 boxes)

Scope of the organization file

The B. Organizations file consists of all documents generated by organizations in which Thacher was involved. It includes only those documents from the original donation given by the Thacher's that are not considered correspondence or personal, business data. These documents have been processed according to the organization and their subsidiaries and, if applicable, their subsidiaries that originally created, published or distributed the document. Materials have then been further divided according to genre or type of document and constitute series and subseries.

The most widely used series titles are: 1. Items of the provisional agenda; 2. Agenda items; 3. Conference room papers; 4. Information papers; 5. Background documents; 6. Speeches, statements and addresses; 7. Meeting/Session/Consultation documents; 8. Working papers. In all cases, exclude Speeches, statements and address, and Meeting/Session/Consultation documents, series titles were chosen based on the title designated on the document and include the following: items of the provisional agenda, agenda items, Conference room papers, information papers, background papers; all are arranged by the item, paper or document number. Series titled as speeches, statements and addresses, and Official Meeting/Session/Consultation documents and informal meeting documents were created through generalization. Speeches, statements and addresses include all transcripts and notes of speeches given at a particular conference, event, session, etc. Speeches have generally been arranged alphabetically under the country/organization presenting the speech. Where appropriate, some speeches have been arranged alphabetically under the individual's surname. Official meeting documents title refers to those documents which have been given official organizational document numbers but lack any formal title linking it to other series genre in the respective group or subgroup. These are arranged numerically under the document number.
