Typescript letter with handwritten signature from Beatrix Farrand to John Thacher accepts his invitation to occupy a third-floor room during her mid-April visit to Washington, D.C. as she was unable to secure a hotel room. She reports talking with Mildred Bliss about Santa Barbara Botanic Garden affairs which were satisfactorily settled and says Mildred Bliss "hopes it may be possible for Dumbarton Oaks to accept some of the orchids which we [Max and Beatrix Farrand] had for the Directors...
