Biographical / Historical

Marc Rosenberg (1852-1930) was a German authority on goldworking techniques as used by various early civilizations and a collector of gold and silver objects. His research was published in a multi-volume publication, Geschichte der Goldschmiedekunst auf technischer Grundlage (Frankfurt am Main: H. Keller, 1908-1925).

Arrangement

The files and file folders were numbered by Rosenberg, and each file is labeled either on the folder or on the first sheet of the file.

Processing Information

The papers, which retain their original file numbers as received, were inventoried by James N. Carder and Mary Ferranti in 2010.
