Scope and Contents
Copy of typescript letter from Beatrix Farrand to Harry Thompson, National Park Service tells him she is visiting Washington, D.C. in early April and hopes to meet with him. She discusses the plantings along the Dumbarton Oaks Park hillside that are thriving and those that are not and could use some reorganization. She suggests the use of broadleaf evergreens be minimal and plantings along the stream side and near pools. She feels the stream should have an "... eighteenth century quality of the naturalistic ...".
