Scope and Contents

Typescript letter with handwritten signature from Isabelle Stover to Anne Sweeney tells her she is sorry the "Monograph of azaleas" by Ernest Wilson and Alfred Rehder is a duplicate purchase. More books are being ordered from Dulau's Department, B.H. Blackwell, Ltd. and book order for 6 books is enclosed. Beatrix Farrand may want to keep the book, "Essay on the picturesque, as compared to the sublime and the beautiful" by Uvedale Price for the Reef Point Garden library. In a handwritten postscript, Stover wants to make sure the Horticultural Colour Chart [The Wilson color chart] by Robert Francis Wilson has not already been purchased before ordering it for Dumbarton Oaks. She explains the book, "The works of verse and prose" by William Shenstone, was meant for Dumbarton Oaks, and Beatrix Farrand will likely explain when Anne Sweeney travels to Reef Point, Bar Harbor, Maine.
