Scope and Contents

Exchange of letters between Robert Patterson and Anne Sweeney about the plans, correspondence, and photographs that were sent from Reef Point. Patterson writes, "I presume that the first thing is to separate the sheep from the goats and see what is worth keeping and what should be thrown out, such as blueprints when the originals are also there, and that sort of thing. The other material, the correspondence, photographs, and so on, should have been there before this but no doubt you will see it immediatley if you have not already received it." They write about the garden center question and the need to know the amount of shelf and filing space needed for books and other materials for the coolhouse (garden center). Patterson asks Sweeney for the feet of shelf space needed and Sweeney offers dimensions for her current shelf space, but also Mildred Blisses suggestion to allow for plenty of leeway based on past experience at Dumbarton Oaks having proved that everything built was inadquate in a very short space of time. Sweeney cites the library which was supposed to be contained in the mezzanine of the Museum building.
