Scope and Contents

Handwritten letter from Hester Pickman to Mildred Bliss tells her that she, Daisy, and Pick have said so much about your beautiful house and the lovely parties you gave for Hubert and Gertrudes wedding that she needs to communicat some of their enthusiasm to Mildred. "It was so extraordinarily kind of you and Robert to do so much for us all and to do it so superlatively - your house is always a joy to go to ...." She is so glad that her last sight of it was from the mellow autumn garden. "That garden seems to me a very special wonder." She regrets that there was no time to open the great Italian cupboard full of treasures in the Music Room, but hopes that it will be for the next unofficial occasion. She reports that Hubert and Gertrude have had good weather ever since their rainy wedding day.
