Scope and Contents

Copy of a typescript letter from John Thacher to Beatrix Farrand thanks her for two letter and her thoughtfulness in sending him the Italian envelope to accompany him on his journey. He is happy to know that she is looking forward to the stone tiger's return to Reef Point. He thanks her for sending him statements for her expense accounts for Dumbarton Oaks. Unless the accounts have been revised by June 1st, Miss Carpenter will send her two checks to cover the amounts stated in her letter. He says Robert Patterson feels his account will no exceed $600, so a check will be sent to him in early June. He reports the Dumbarton Oaks Symposium went well and feels the scholarly activities have been properly launched. He adds a postscript to say it would be wiser if the Beatrix Farrand, Agent book account were also turned over to Robert Patterson.
