Scope and Contents

Copy of typescript letter from Anne Sweeney to Isabelle Stover discusses books received, "Manual of grasses of the United States" by A.S. Hitchcock; "Modern bird study" by Ludlow Griscom; and "Weeds of lawn and garden" by John Milton Fogg, and those not yet received, "Home and garden"; "Wood and garden" both by Gertrude Jekyll; "Index to North American ferns" by Maurice Broun; "Guide to the eastern ferns" by Edgar Wherry; and "First book of grasses" by Agnes Chase. Anne Sweeney reports the gardens opened earlier due to an early Spring and in March there was a total of 6023 visitors; Beatrix Farrand not visiting Dumbarton Oaks this Spring; and requests $20.00 to buy prints for the Catalogue House.
