Scope and Contents

Postal Telegraph telegram from Mildred Bliss and Robert Woods Bliss to Beatrix Farrand tells her how strange that their parallel decision should unite them so closely these very days. They send full appreciation to Max for his step and timing of it and relief it will bring you both despite wistful regrets and readjustments. On Sunday their last day at Dumbarton Oaks you will be held close. Robert goes to Florida for three weeks. Mildred shall be in New York until the eighth then Washington, D.C. for daily work at Dumbarton and both leave for Santa Barbara the 28th. At present there is emotional intensity and pressure preventing her from writing. Signed "devotedly to Max Trix" (Max Farrand and Beatrix Farrand).
