Scope and Contents

Handwritten letter from Ruth Havey to Mildred Bliss reporting the completion of the Arbor Terrace and is curious to know what Mildred thinks of it when she sees it. Havey reports she is going on a holiday for three weeks. She tells Mildred the rail at the swimming pool steps is in; the R Street gates have their gold leaf, the Box Terrace gravel has been changed to a darker color and little stones under the seat at the south end. The seat in the Bosquet and the Didymus seat are under construction. Mr. Lank built the shrub boxes for the Arbor Terrace. The Perspective lattice is still first on Mr. [G. Frederick] Coles , but is slow. He has rebuilt the pool of the Hoseshoe Steps which was destroyed by vandals. She hopes Mildred will like what has been done at Dumbarton Oaks.
