Scope and Contents

Typescript letter from Ruth Havey to Mildred Bliss offers thanks for holiday greetings and returns affectionate thoughts and good wishes to her and Robert Bliss. She reports spending Christmas in Boston. Havey tells her the reconstruction of the arbor in the Arbor Terrace is on schedule with the contract signed with Lank Construction Co. and expected substantial completion by February 15th. The Box Terrace paving drawings are about done and Havey will ask Mr. Kearney to find a contractor for an estimate. Mr. Coles has had trouble locating accesptable limestone for the Box Terrace tablet and the console in the North Court wall at house. The quality of limestone has been good, but the color is too light. With a darkened stone the table can be ready for the inscription by January 6th. Wet and cold weather has held Coles up so that the cutting of the moulding of the North Vista wall is not finished. He has been told to go ahead and medning the swimming pool gutter and painting of the Green Garden tablet. The Perspective near the Lilac Circle are both on Havey and Coles' mind. Havey reports that surveying Crabapple Hillside that she did with Mr. Kearney and Mr. Coles delights her. The survey gives her a clear picture of existing grades and tree locations. Havey has joined The Skating Club of New York and offers wishes from Mr. Allen Klots (President) and Mr. Hubert Martineau (member).
