Letter from Ruth Havey, 27 West 10th Street, New York, N.Y. to Mrs. Robert Woods Bliss, Dumbarton, Georgetown, Washington, D.C., February 16, 1937 Digital
Scope and Contents
Unsigned copy of typescript letter from Ruth Havey on her professional letterhead to Mildred Bliss enclosing some sketches for the Terrior table-bench. She provides detail on height, shape, materials, and purpose. The table-bench drawing could have the possibility of incised lines for decoration or two Lion Fables at the ends. She sent to Mr. [John] Davis some dummies for the iron flowers and asked him to show them to Mildred along with the drawing for the bouquet. The iron flowers she refers to may be the iron flowers for the vases on the gate piers between the Dumbarton Oaks Garden, Arbor Terrace, and Fountain Terrace.
