Letter from Beatrix Farrand, 21 East Eleventh Street, New York to Mildred Bliss, May 20, 1923 Digital
Scope and Contents
Handwritten and handsigned letters on embossed letterhead from Beatrix Farrand expressing her admiration for Mildred Bliss and the emptiness she will feel while at The Oaks [Dumbarton Oaks] while Mildred and Robert Bliss are away at an interesting post in Europe. She and [William] Gray will do some organizing, explore the possibilities of masons and carpenters, and eject [Wm. P.] Lipscomb and Co. from the outdoors [the garden]. She states she is the helping hands to carry out the work on The Oaks, so it becomes what Mildred Bliss wants it.
