Scope and Contents

Typescript letter on Beatrix Farrand embossed letterhead with handwritten note and signature. The report for "The Oaks" and plant lists for the R Street plantation border and Orangery dated June 24-25, 1922 from Beatrix Farrand, Bar Harbor, Maine, to Mildred Bliss was intended to be enclosed with this letter. Beatrix Farrand continues to lay out her vision for the Dumbarton Oaks property and garden. She suggests plants, trees, and colors to be used, and reports receiving the property survey which she can use to work out certain studies for the garden.
