Series I. Workshops and trainings records, 1957-2000

Scope and Contents

Consists of materials relating to psychodrama and group psychotherapy workshops and trainings given by Zerka T. Moreno, along with Jacob L. Moreno and, after his death, Merlyn S. Pitzele. This includes correspondence with hosts and site managers, as well as travel information, payment agreements, schedules and itineraries, promotional materials, and some workshop evaluations and preparatory notes. Within the series can be found clippings and articles relating to the workshops and trainings, as well as video and audio recordings of workshops led by Zerka T. Moreno, and interviews on the topic of psychodrama from workshops and trainings. The audio recordings are on DVD, U-Matic, VHS, and Open-Reel video cassettes as well as audiocassettes. Additional itineraries, travel plans and documents, and workshop-related notes are found nine 3.5” floppy disks. The trainings and workshops were delivered both throughout the United States and internationally, and the materials related are in multiple different languages. Some records are in German, Romanian, Dutch, French, Spanish, Japanese, Swiss German, Israeli, Swedish, Portuguese, and Italian.

Conditions Governing Access

Series I contains files with personally-identifying patient information that is restricted for 80 years from the date of record creation. The end of the restricted period is noted with each folder. Access to electronic records in this series is premised on the availability of a computer station, requisite software, and/or the ability of the Public Services staff to review and/or print out records of interest in advance of an on-site visit.
