Scope and Contents

Consists of membership correspondence, committee records, professional society conference programs and announcements, and lecture transcripts, generated by Erich Lindemann as a product of his public speaking activities and his service in professional organizations and national committees. The bulk of the series contains: meeting minutes, memoranda, committee reports, and related correspondence, generated during Lindemann’s service on various committees, including: the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry Committee on Preventive Psychiatry; the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Subcommittee on Pilot and Special Projects; the National Institute of Mental Health Committee on Social and Physical Environmental Variables as Determinants of Mental Health; and the World Health Organization. Professional conferences concern various areas in psychiatry and mental health, including: community mental health; education in psychiatry and public health; child psychiatry; psychosomatic disorders; psychotherapy; preventive psychiatry; and psychiatry and mental health in other countries. Please note that some professional activities papers may also be found in Series IV (Correspondence), VI (Subject Files), and VII (Audio-Visual Records).
