Subseries: Children's Hospital,, 1915-1970.

Incorporated in 1869, Children’s Hospital of Boston opened its doors as a twenty-bed facility in Boston’s South End that same year. Dr. Francis Brown and his colleagues founded the hospital to provide patient care for sick children, to teach others the principles of child health care, and to seek cures to the debilitating diseases of childhood. Children’s Hospital officially became a teaching hospital in 1903 after formalizing its ties with Harvard Medical School, and in 1914 moved to its present location on Longwood Avenue.
